Bachelor of Commerce(B.Com.)
The Department of Commerce UG (B.Com) was introduced in the year 2009.Around 9 batches of B.Com students have passed out of the College till date.The Department's main vision is to provide quality teaching for students coming from all sections of the society.The ultimate concern of the Department's faculty is to ensure that the students become Competitive and Employable.Almost all students passed out of the course are either employed in Public/Private sector firms or managing their own ventures. B.Com is a 3 year program and the curriculum is prescribed by the University of Mysore. The Department presently has around 210 students from all the three years. The Department has a team of qualified and experienced faculty who contribute their best to facilitate the students.
The Department leaves no stone unturned in providing quality teaching with updated teaching aids and effective study materials.It is also proactive in conducting many Co-curricular activities such as Workshops,Seminars,Guest Lectures from Academicians and Industry experts,Industry visits etc related to the domain area .To bring out the best talents from the student community,it is been conducting many extracurricular activities such as Inter and Intra Collegiate Fests,Sports and Cultural Contests from its inception.It also encourages students to take part in various Inter collegiate events such as Fests,Debate,Quiz,Cultural and Sports.
In order to develop skills among students which is a crucial need of the hour, the Department identifies their areas of interest and has provided interested students, training in IBPS and Competitive exams,English Language,Tally and Excel as skill initiatives through the Skill Development Centre till date and is actively conducting many Workshops on GST, Entrepreneurship,Career Orientation/Awareness programs on Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary and Cost and Management Accounting Courses to embrace the students on the opportunities available and requirements of the Industry/Academia.
Class rooms have appropriate seating facility also with projectors available for effective teaching.Smart rooms teaching also are undertaken for utilizing online resources and streaming video lectures. Well equipped library with latest editions of books and journals and Computer Lab are readily available for student use.A Seminar hall with a seating capacity of 150 is very useful in conducting many of the above stated programs.
The Department also believes in contributing to the welfare of the society and to support this we have NSS Unit in the Department which conducts social activities such as awareness camps in rural areas, blood donation program, Swach Mysuru and imparting education through our Department faculty to the primary school children of a village in the vicinity of the college.The Department also has few academic and non academic activities and programs planned for the overall development of students in the coming year.

Facilities available
- The Class rooms are well equipped with projectors and LCD screens to facilitate effective teaching through powerpoint presentations, and student presentations by conducting class room seminars.
- To facilitate teaching through latest ICT tools the college also has advanced Smart rooms with ample seating facility for students not only for imparting curriculum but also to conduct various Academic and Non Academic programs such as Guest Lectures, Seminars, Quiz, Workshops, Personality Development programs, placement training etc.
- A well quipped computer lab is also available to conduct career oriented training programs such as Tally, Excel, Powerpoint which is a crucial requirement in the industry for the students of B.Com.
- Library with latest editions of books authored by both National and International authors and Journals in the area of Commerce, Administration, Taxation, Accounting, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Business Law and many other related and general subjects are available.
- Provisions for separate waiting room for Girls and for the sick students are made.
- A Seminar Hall with a seating capacity of 150 is available to conduct various Academic and Non Academic Programs from the Department.
- Public Address system to provide any updates and make any announcements also is available in the campus.
